Buckrider

In October 2020, as part of the Inktober challenge on Instagram, I committed to producing one finished piece of artwork every single day for that month. Each day had a different prompt word, which would form the basis for the drawing I would do. Each piece of art I produced during the course of Inktober used different artistic styles and different media, traditional or digital, 2D or 3D. The prompt word for day 22 was ' Buckrider'. Buckriders (or Bokkennrijders) are part of Dutch and Belgian folklore and were demons who rode through the sky on flying goats and raided peaceful communities and farms. For this piece, I used pixel art to make a retro Game Boy style title screen for a fictitious game based on the Buckriders.
