About James
I’m a multidisciplinary designer originally from London and now based in East Grinstead, West Sussex, with more than 12 years of professional experience across digital design, graphic design, email, web, motion and 3D.
My background is in animation, which I studied at Ravensbourne University, graduating in 2012. Since then, my career has expanded into many other creative disciplines, which include working across digital campaigns, email and landing page design, branding, motion graphics, illustration and interactive design I have also further developed my skills in 3D modelling and CAD.
Over the past decade, I’ve worked across a mix of in-house and freelance projects, creating work for clients in areas including SaaS, utilities, entertainment and digital marketing. Alongside my full time roles, I’ve continued to take on freelance and personal projects, which has given me the chance to explore different styles, tools and ways of working while building a broad creative skill set.
In 2025, I founded Envision 3D, a bespoke 3D design and additive manufacturing business. Through Envision 3D I work with customers on custom CAD, functional and replacement parts, prototypes, models and display pieces, taking projects from an initial idea or problem through design, manufacture and delivery. This has allowed me to combine creative design with practical problem-solving and develop a much stronger understanding of how digital ideas become physical objects.
Outside commercial design, I continue to create artwork and explore 3D modelling using tools such as Blender and Nomad Sculpt. Drawing, painting and character work remain an important part of my broader creative practice. You can view some of my artwork on my Instagram.
Away from design, I enjoy travelling, cycling, comics and exploring new places. I’ve travelled to more than 25 countries and am usually happiest when I have a new project, trip or idea to work on.
