Gevatter Tod

In October 2020, as part of the Inktober challenge on Instagram, I committed to producing one finished piece of artwork every single day for that month. Each day had a different prompt word, which would form the basis for the drawing I would do. Each piece of art I produced during the course of Inktober used different artistic styles and different media, traditional or digital, 2D or 3D. The prompt word for day 13 was ' Gevatter Tod', which translates as Godfather Death and is the German name for the Grim Reaper. I produced an animated digital drawing of the grim reaper applied a Synthwave/Outrun style, mainly as I like to combine elements of horror with sci-fi. I wanted to portray the grim reaper leading the viewer in their transition from life to death.
